From Lhasa to Namtso Lake then back to Lhasa is abt 500km, that’s why it’s so hard for local operators as us to keep the price low for private tour especially if you are travelling alone. Tour Program

Day 1 Arrival in Lhasa (3680m)
Taking flight into Tibet will give you a panorama of the snowy Himalaya Mountains Or 1-2 days of train riding over the high plateau by crossing Tanggula Mountains with beautiful sceneries along the way. Once you arrive, our local Tibetan tour guide and driver will greet you at Lhasa Airport/Railway with traditional Tibetan white scarf to wish you good luck! Then transfer you to the hotel, the rest of the day you will be free to wander around the city on your own but try not to overtax yourself. The first day's well-rest is crucial to acclimatize high altitude. Remember to drink lots of water, eat light, and not to shower if you can help it.

Day 2 Lhasa Suburb (B/D)
Today’s first attraction is to visit Drepung Monastery which is the world's largest monastery that housed for more than 10,000 monks; it was the resident of the Dalai Lama. After lunch, you will continue to visit the Sera Monastery which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive thing of Sera Monastery is Buddhist Scriptures debating held in the courtyard between 15:00 - 17:00 from Monday to Saturday.

Day 3 Lhasa City (B)
In the morning our guide will meet you at the hotel and first take you to visit famous Potala Palace, the cardinal landmark of Tibet and the masterpiece of Tibetan architecture, it was first built by 33rd King Songtsen Gangpo in the 7th century and rebuilt it later in 17th century by 5th Dalai Lama, now it is a museum and world heritage site.

In the afternoon, we will go to visit Jokhang Temple in the center of the old Lhasa city. Jokhang Temple is one of the most sacred temples in all over Tibet and it is always bustling with earnest local pilgrims since from early days. After that you will take a walk around the Barkhor street which is the one of the most devotional circuit as well as crowded central market of Lhasa, Barkhor Street is located in the old area of Lhasa City Tibet, it is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Temple and the locals are always proud of it. As a symbol of Lhasa, it is also a must-see place for visitors.

Day 4 Lhasa- Namtso(4718m) ,250km, Approx. 5 hrs(B)
In the morning, we drive to the holy Namtso lake along the Qinghai-Tibet. On the way to Namtso, you will have a far view of NyenchenThanglha Snow Mountain. Enjoy the view of the vast grassland and spectacular natural scenery.

You'll arrive at Namtso Lake after pass NagelaPass(5150m), it covers a total area of more than 1900 square kilometers, being the second largest salt lake in China. At an elevation of 4718 meters, it is also the highest altitude salt lake in the world, the furthest depth being more than 33m. Besides, you can enjoy the view of Sky-Road railway with snow mountain background; while standing at the famous Nagela Pass, you can see the stunning view of holy Namtso Lake. If the weather is good, you will have a chance to enjoy the marvelous sunset view of the lake.

Day 5 Namtso- Lhasa,250km, Approx. 5 hrs
In the morning, enjoy the sunrise of the lake at the shore and do leisure trek around Tashi Island. After that, we will go back to Lhasa. On the way, you will visit Yampachen Hot Spring (The price includes the entry fee, but excludes bathing Fee, $8-$15/person for different pools). Yampachen lies just south of the Nyainqêntanglha Mountains, famous for Yampachen Hot Springs, at an altitude of 4290–4500m making it the highest altitude set of hot springs in China. Both indoor and outdoor swimming pools have been set up here, in which visitors can enjoy a bath.

Day 6 Depart From Lhasa(B)
Today your guide and driver will escort you to the airport or railway station for your next destination. Before your departure, we will appreciate if you can spend a few minutes to evaluate our services either by filling the feedback form or simply send us an email when you back home. Preparing and back office: almost perfect (except little remarks, see below Guiding (Namgyal): could not be better, perfect Trekking crew: could not be better, perfect, especially again Tulak Horse driver: excellent and very kind Drivers: all drivers drove safely and comfortable. Friendly, if for us to fast, immediately reaction on admonition Hotels and guesthouses: 1. Leh, Hotel Lha-ling-kha: good middle class hotel, friendly, meals rather good, from expect of situation quiet but loud Indian guests 2. Pangong Retreat: Luxury tents, meals good – not excellent, mostly friendly, situated a bit crowded but good lake view, hot shower only in morning instead of late afternoon/early evening. 3. Hunder Sand-dunes-view: best of all, marvelous garden, good rooms with much place, quiet, excellent meals, very kindly, very recommendable 4. Likir, Hotel Lhukhil: friendly, quiet, situated above grain-field, meals good – better than 2013 5. Thimosgang, Hotel Namra: a little uppity, personal: 1 working, 2 standing around, And room: bathroom from neighbor spends light all the night, bad sleep, meals good, would prefer stop in Hemis Shukpatshan this hotel was against the itinerary. Would not recommend one’s more, 6. Lamayuru: Hotel Moonland: New hotel is a building lot, new rooms quickly made, will be quickly defect, balcony with good view to Gompa and mountains, kitchen in old hotel rather good, crew friendly 7. Hotel in Kargil: not bad for this city, behavior of personal not comparable to Ladakhi, meals ok. 8. Srinagar: Houseboat. Hill toors Khaliq Wangnoo: Excellent equipment for 40 years boat, excellent waiter Achat, good kook, bathroom not very clean, Organizer Selim (?): loud, little obtrusive, looks not so much for guests, but brings them to expensive shops and encashs his provision. Double booking by Overland Escape causes confusion, compared with earlier stays: very loud and long muezzin speeches by loudspeakers, dogs, during day: motorboat-waterski 9. Delhi: Pride Plaza: check in from arrival to entering room needs 75 min: You should send in advance: all dates of travelers, who are the couples etc, Confusion with booking MAP. Well styled hotel with 1 working person on 5 standing around, very good rooms, excellent clean bathrooms, loud Indians around, excellent buffet, expensive separate lunch, and full 20 min waiting on luggage when checking out. Flights: both flights happened without problems, 15 kg luggage to Leh is not enough. (Charging additional) Flight-transfers and meetings at airport: perfect, all on time Excursions in Leh with monk-guide: excellent knowledge’s, speaks to fast and with accent, so often we were not able to follow him, too many details, but he tried his best Shikara excursion: was marvelous except with presence of organizer Delhi excursion: perfect, excellent guide Thank you again to all who made our tour to a tour with very positive reminders
