Leh Ladakh
That’s about all Ladhkhi I could learn in one week from Tundup.

Recently my wife and me had the pleasure of visiting Leh and some of the popular surrounding areas like Ule / Lamayuru, Nubra Valley and Pangong lake.

Our visit was from July 3 to 10, 2016 and was indeed a very nice trip. This was made possible because of the 2 persons who attended and took care of us.

One was Mr Tsetan, who took care of our welfare and gave us the necessary guidance, advise which is much needed in a new place. The second person was our driver, Tundup, who drives the Innova

with regn no. JK ------2962. Tundup was always very prompt, well behaved , courteous and acted as the perfect guide. Through you, I would like to thank both of them for making our visit to Leh memorable indeed.

Unfortunately, circumstances did not allow me to meet you while we were in Leh. However, on a personal note, I would like to thank you and your team for taking good care of us. May , by the grace of Lord Buddha, your company grows to greater heights.

Please take care of Tsetan and Tundup. They are both very good boys.

Please do call me if and whenever you are in New Delhi. It will be a pleasure to meet you.

Thanking you very much.

Dear Tundup Dorjey,

I met you at your office in August when I came with Tracey's group to finalise arrangements for our Lamayuru to Darcha trek in August/September. I am sorry it has taken me so long to write to thank you very much for a fantastic crew to support our trek. The entire trek was perfect in every way and that was due to the work of our crew, who predicted our needs and acted in our interests before we ourselves knew that we had a need or wish. They worked together co-operatively to get the work done every day in the most efficient manner. We always felt cared for and safe. Words cannot describe the special experience I had.

Our guide was Tsering Angchuk and we all thought we were very lucky to have been given him as our guide. Achuk (as we knew him) was a most excellent cultural and trekking guide who enriched our experience way beyond our expectations. His knowledge of, and connection with, Buddhism was a bonus I had not expected and I learnt a lot from him. The other crew members: Parkash, Gyatso, Tashi, Kakuram and Dharam Sing were always cheerful, friendly and helpful. Prakash cooked the best food, with great variety and we were continuously amazed at what he produced (even a decorated cake for our last evening).

For the rest of our time in India, all went smoothly and was well organised. I will happily recommend Overland Escape to anyone considering travel in your region and you may use my testimonial in any way you wish.

With much gratitude and my very best wishes,

Sigrid Jakob.

Dear Ms Dolker,

Just a word of 'thanks' to you and your team for organizing our tour flawlessly and professionally. We have been well looked after by Samten and Tassi. We enjoyed all the meals provided in the tour package. Most of the hotels were ok except Tsomoriri Resort which needs to pay more attention to room cleanliness (but the staff were so helpful in trying to make us comfortable) ! Ladakh Residency was good : clean, spacious and comfortable with the best Chai milk tea I have ever tasted. Siachen and Glacier Heights did not impressed us with their rooms but their food!

Overall we enjoyed our trip very much. We love your part of the world. Thank you for your hospitality.

Leh Ladakh
Dear Overland Escape,
My family just returned back from Leh and we all agreed that we left part of our heart there - and one of the biggest reasons why was our experience with the team at Overland Escape.
From the moment we arrived everything was smooth and the orientation and meetings at the hotel were very helpful. We were expertly driven to see the sights with Doulje and we quickly became comfortable with him and his very easy going spirit (which was perfect with two kids). He adapted very well to our personality and we shared good laughs.
We had quite the adventure with Lobzang, Tulag and Tanzing. The rains interrupted our itinerary, but we always felt comfortable and safe with the decision making ability of the team. When we decided to make the best of it by camping in Zeng Chen they made sure they could make it as special as possible. Dinner that evening was amazing!
A very special thank you to Lobzang who really looked after our 8-year old son Alex. Alex especially felt a connection with him and Lobzang was very patient and friendly.
I know that creating a special experience for others is not about luck - it's about working hard to build a team of good people and having pride in what you do and where you live. The magic is about making it seem easy even though I know it's not and the team worked really hard. My family will remember this very special experience and we can't wait to come back again.

Sincerely,
Christina, Brian, Kathlin and Alex AiChang

Leh Ladakh
Dear sir,
Good Morning. We travelled to Ladakh with Overland Escape between 3 July - 16July 2015. We had a great trip n enjoyed ladakh very much. It was an awesome experience with itinary given by Mr.Kamlesh Lalan.

We would really like to appreciate n thank your drivers (Lobzang Namkheen n Tsering Dorjey ) without whom our trip wouldn't have been this easy. They were responsible in all ways of taking care of us. We had oxygen problems at various spots and lobzang use to takecare of taking us to hospitals n doctors. Both the drivers were more caring n helpful towards us in all the ways we could imagine. We had many problems ( road blocks, bad roads, oxygen problems etc.) our solution were Dorjey n lobzang. We were thinking of cutting short our trip n returning from leh after oxygen problem in khardung la, but their hospitality n care made us do our whole trip. Hats Off to your drivers. May they prosper in life in everyway. God bless them both.

Warm Wishes,

Hi Tsering, this mail comes a bit later than it should but juts wanted to thank Overland, you and the extremely wonderful team that took us through the Markha valley. This was the first time both me and my friend were visiting Ladakh, and not juts the team made it such a pleasant memorable experience.

The guide, Naamgayal was/is extremely informative and ware of the the entire region, has such a wonderful grasp of the environment and agile senses that that even in the middle of hard long days (atleast for us), he paused and pointed to us the birds and the shy wildlife that the high altitudes are so rich in, especially the citing f a clutch of blue sheep and their babies coming down the cliff of water remains as unforgettable.

Addition to him, the rest of the team, the Rigzien (so attentive, and gentle), Gyapo (the most delicious veg food and even treated to pizza and cake at over 4000 mts!) & Karma (quietly whsipering and working with the horses) ..were wonderful. Is always so pleasant when the team gets along with each others and they seem to share a lot of work and laughter. We always felt taken care of yet equally challenged on adventure.

thanks....and plaese do pass on this apprecaition and gratitude to the othere as well.

Warm regards

Leh Ladakh
Dear Tanu, Lotus and Mr. Tundup,
This is just to provide some feedback on our (myself, ,my wife Sarika and 5 yrs old daughter Sanjana) recent Ladakh trip that we got organized by you guys. I only have good things to say about the whole trip as we had a great time, comfortable stay and amazing travel experience. I came to know during our tour that you guys were really busy as you had lots of tourists to take care of.
We traveled in an Innova (JK10A 0281) driven by Mr. Namgyal who is one of the best drivers that we have come across during our vacations. He is a very careful, but effortless, driver following all the rules of mountain driving. He knows a lot about Ladakh, its people, politics, pros and cons and he loves to talk about it. On our long trips I was busy taking pictures during our onward journey while during return I was immersed in a conversation with him about Ladakh. I think he is an ideal person to explore Ladakh with.
We also had three homestays in Hemis, Panamik, and Pangong and all of them gave us a different experience about Ladakh. In fact the stay in Leh in Lhalingkha was also sort of a home-stay as I had lot of discussion with its owner, Mr. Wangdus staying in the hotel premises, about Ladakh. The hotel was very well maintained with friendly staff, particularly Mr. Megh Singh. In fact on our first day my wife had serious problems due to high altitudes and I cannot forget the help a support given by Megh Singh.
I am trying hard to think about the negative things but nothing comes to my mind. So I must thank you and your team for planning our tour and for assigning Namgyal ji as our driver.

With Best wishes,
Anjan.

Leh Ladakh
Dear Tanu,
Thank you very much for the care you and your team at Overland Escape took of us and made our holiday a pleasure.
I would especially like to thank Tundup for insisting that we visit Nubra as it turned out to be the highlight of our trip.
The only thing that I would like to point out is that you should make sure that no vehicle/trip is undertaken without the Oxygen tank as we had a really hard time at Pangong Lake where we desperately needed it and if we had travelled without the Oxygen tank our trip would have ended very badly.
That said, I would again like to thank all of you for arranging a very good trip for us. We hope to visit Leh again and also plan trips to Bhutan, Spiti, kashmir and other places with your organisation.

Thanks and regards

Leh Ladakh
Me and the guys had a really great time in leh. It was our 2nd 3rd time in leh and first time in winter. It was real fun. And the facilities from your side were perfect. And the last day when we completed our trek from hinju to wanla we had planned to stay in tents for that night. But my friends wanted to go home so i had no say in the coming back thing and it was all due to their fatigue. The guide Mr Lobzang was very helpful. Also the cooks were amazing. Our driver Mr Dorjey was also very courteous and helpful. And the people at Hotel Lotus!! This Leh winter has been truly amazing. This was my first time with overland, but surely not the last. I will surely recommend it to all my friends.
This Leh winter was an amazing experience. Thanks to your overland team.

Leh, Pangong and Nubra
Sorry for a very delayed response, got busy with lots of office work and festive season.
I had a fabulous trip. Services at every place where above my expectation. Specially I loved the Pangong stay, Nubra was none less.
I am very thankful to you and your agency for planning a good trip for us. Ladakh is very beautiful place to be and your agency and you with you cooperation made it more wonderful.
I will be visiting their certainly again and of course with your agency only. Last but not the least, please convey my thanks to Weng our cab driver, he too has been very cooperative.
There is a lot to write for trip and your travel planning but cutting it short.
Trip is a life time memory and you had contributed well in that.......Thanks!
Only feedback I have is that please help visitors with a list of Dos and Donts in addition with a price list for Ladakh as people shop a lot there, if your agency can provide any personal assistant in that, it would be added super advantage.

Leh to Manali Bike tour September 13-24 September
It was a great experience with Overland Escape. The team that travelled with us - Thinles, Dawa and Norbu were such wonderful people. We never had issues with the bikes while riding. Norbu was the most fun. Despite us having girls in the group, they were comfortable to travel in the car and with your team.

I would like to thank Thinles, Dawa and Norbu for traveling with us and making our experience a very memorable one. For sure I will be looking forward to make another trip with you and will be recommending overland escape you my friends and colleagues.

Last but not the least a big thank you Ms. Tani for accommodating our last minute changes and being patient with us.

Till we meet again …

Thank you

Uttranchal trek, 30 Sep to 21 Oct 2013
30th Sept to 21st Oct 2013
I'ts a little late reaction but we are very busy after our trekking. Well we have had a great time.

First Your organization was perfect, the people we met were very friendly and did their job as well as possible.

The porters were good and the guide one of the best we had, attend full with a good acknowledge of the area.

The same thing for your local agent in Almora, again very friendly and very helpful.

After the trekking there was a problem with the train tickets, no problem for him, he arranged a car to Delhi.

The equipment was all right, one remark you are all young people, but our back is a little older and it could be a good thing

to change the sleeping mats for better one's .

We hope to come back as soon as possible.

Many greetings to you and your staff

Just wanted to thank you for making this a highly enjoyable trip for us. Your attention to details (except for the missing meal on way back from Ule ;-) ) - thoughtful itinerary, accommodations, car & driver - and the courteous conduct of all concerned ensured that we were able to cover everything we'd planned in the trip and that too without risking AMS!

The fantastic landscape and overall experience made this a cherished trip for us!

Thank you once again.

Spiti and Ladakh tour and trek July-August 2013
After we successfully completed the last leg of our wonderful, long and very diverse Ladakh trip ten days ago we just want to thank you once again for your excellent planning and the competent implementation of every stage of the trip. With two trekking routes ( complicated by landslides and bad weather), one jeep safari and the overland trip back to Delhi it really was a complex and challenging task for you, which you completed to our upmost sastisfaction. Namgyal was the very best guide we ever had, we always felt very well cared for and safe in his company. He deeply impressed us with his love for his beautiful country and his enthusiasme for his work- we do hope we will meet again!
At Delhi railwaystation we unfortunately were not able to identify your agent (or he us) , so we took a local taxi to the hotel, but we did meet him next morning for the transfer to the airport.
As one of your very first customers we witnessed with great pleasure the success of your company and wish you many likewise successful years to come.
With kind regards and best wishes,
Helga Zimpel-Erler

22th august - 3 september 2013 from Padum to Dat, Ladakh
We would like to let you know that we enjoyed the trekking (22th august - 3 september from Padum to Dat) with your organisation very much!
We had a very good time, and enjoyed the beautiful landscape of Zanskar and Rupshu.
The team we travelled with was great! ( Sonam, Samstan, Sonam Tashi). We had a very good time with them.
Thanks for everything, we will keep it in mind as a very very nice time!

Many greetings from the Netherlands,

Zanskar with Rupsho Combined - July 2013
It's been a week since we've returned to the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong and we haven't stopped raving and reminiscing about the fabulous time we had trekking from Raru to Shang Sumdo. We just wanted you to know that we have really enjoyed having Namgyal as our guide. His enthusiasm to share his knowledge of the wildlife and the local culture has enriched the experience of our trek tenfold. Just when the walking sometimes gets too tedious, he would point out a herd of blue sheep, a pug mark left by a snow leopard or a few wild asses on a ridge; wild life we would have missed have we been trudging on our own. He knows when to slow down and quicken the pace when there is need. We have felt really safe and well looked after by your staff the whole time. There was one particular river crossing that we were quite worried as we have read that the river can be uncrossable in July. Fortunately with all the prayers and offerings that Namgyal has made to Buddha along the trek, it must have paid off as the river did not swell to an unmanageable level. Namgyal, together with Tulag and Nawang helped us across the river safely.

We've also enjoyed the variety of food Tulag prepared for us every meal and the effort your staff had made to make the dining tent a cosy place to eat (candles and napkins! wow!) His kitchen tent is so organized and as we are used to preparing our own simple food when camping, it is a really pleasant change not to worry about that aspect this time round. He has definitely impressed us with his apple pie, pizza and cake-baking skill. Since our return, I have tried to replicate one of his egg curry recipe but somehow haven't got it quite right yet.

Overall, we have really been very impressed by your attentive and hardworking staff and your recommendation of the trek route couldn't have been better. The remoteness of the trek route is a big plus for us. Thank you for a fabulous trekking experience.

Sikkim Tour - April 2013
We are extremely happy with Sikkim trip. Sikkim people were really friendly and I have zero complains from the trip. Things that really went well. Driver was very mature and handled tough situations well. He ensured safety and very capable of handling tough terrains. Teen taley resort is highly recommended. The resort had nice garden, friendly people and organic food. They took care well. Anil and driver took care of us when we wanted to interact with public. They took care of us when there were diversions or emergency crossings. Anil is young and energetic. The travel agency has good network and were able to help us to cross over landslide in 30 minutes. They ensured we are safe. In all hotels the stay was safe, hygienic and food was good except in temporary arrangement in Lachen. Suggestion: At Mintongling hotel time to serve food is minimum 1 hour. The temporary stay in Lachen was not that great. They said we do not serve more than 2 rotis. Dolker ensured we are safe and did quick co ordination when we were struck. She ensured the guide and drivers were aware that we are there for photography and ensured they are patient and not hurrying us back. I thank Dolker for all her good work and constantly ensuring we are happy and safe....

Markha Valley Trek 2011
The weather during the trekking was so good as the service of Tundup Dorjey, the director of Overland Escape.
My guide Sanggye (not sure the spell of his name) was so suportive on every details. As a Korean group, we ate Kimchi, which bad smell, but he helped me on cutting it and cooked. Thank you guys very much again. I hope to see you again and again.

Trekking in Markha and Tsomoriri, Ladakh - 12 September 2011
I have trekked with overland escape twice in 2005 when we did the Markha valley trek and in 2011 when we did Tsomoriri. on both occasions the arrangements had been excellent, we had great fun, excellent guidance/ support and not to forget excellent food. Also when we were stuck in Leh in 2005 due to unseasonal snow leading to the Manali Leh road and Leh airport being closed for 3 days, the proprietor Tundup Dorjey got us out of Leh in a most effective manner. Also I have found Tundup very helpful and extremely transparent in all his dealings which (the second point in my opinion is quite rare for the industry). Would definitely do any future Ladakh trips with him anytime.

Trekking of the highest quality - 17 September 2011
I have travelled with teams of Overland Escape on 6 occasions now and every single time the experience was wholeheartedly positive.
On two occasions, Tundup organised lengthy treks through remote parts of Ladakh, Zanskar and Nubra and his organisation was absolutely reliable and spot on on every occasion. The trekking teams we travelled with were excellent, the food outstanding and the support available whenever it was needed.
We were trekking during the floods in Summer 2010 in Zanskar and Changtang, and were, ultimately, the only trekking group that reached Tso Moriri during the middle of August, in the week just after the flooding. This was due to the competence of our guide, Namgyal, who changed our route to enable us to proceed, who knew exactly where to cross the swollen rivers and who kept us completely safe at all times.
On 4 occasions, Overland Escape organised Easter expeditions through the Markha Valley for relatively large school groups. This, of course, needed extraordinarily good organisation, and on each occasion, this was exactly what we got. Not only were all timings kept and all information was relevant and 100% reliable, the trekking teams Tundup organised for us, were amongst the best teams I have ever travelled with. In particular, Namgyal is in all likelihood the best guide I have ever trekked with. His knowledge of the region, its culture and wildlife is outstanding, and he is also an excellent travel companion. He can empathise with and enthuse adults and youngsters to the same degree.
Overland Escape certainly is one of the best trekking outfits I have come across in the Himalayas or indeed anywhere in the world (I have also trekked in Nepal, Tibet, Pakistan, Peru and Jordan). I would wholeheartedly recommend travelling with this organisation.

Ladakh - August 2011
Dear Mr. Dorjey, Ms. Tani, Lotus, Nubru and entire Overland Escape Team,

Thanks a lot for organizing the wonderful trip to Ladakh from Aug 14-18 for my wife and me. Everything in the tour including the hotels, food, transport were immaculately taken care of.

Ms Tani was very responsive in modifying our itinerary when our flight from Delhi got cancelled at the last minute.

A special word of appreciation for our driver Nubru as well - in addition to being a very good driver, he knew the local area very well and was extremely helpful in guiding us to a hospital near Pangong when my wife was suffering from altitude sickness. Thank you Nubru.

As one point of feedback - please advise tourists who are not used to high terrain to refrain from staying overnight at Pangong as it does get very cold and oxygen levels are low as compared to Leh/Nubra Valley. A day trip is much better according to me.

We highly recommend Overland Escape to anybody planning a trip to Ladakh.

Regards,

Our specific thanks to Mr.Nurbo who is an excellent driver and very warm person. He acted for us as a tour guide to explain all details about the places/ monuments and monastries. It was a very satisfying experience with Overland Escape. We could enjoy your concept of 'Homestay' in its true sense.Keep it up.

Thanks again .God bless you.

India
Dear Mr Tundup,

We attended the Markha Valley trek organised by your team in June 2010 (well before the floods). Hats off to your team comprising of Tsering (guide), Tulap (Cook), Stinzin (Helper) and two horsemen. They were very helpful and hospitable. Special mention ought to be made of Tsering, who was always at our side during the trek.

The trek itself was rather arduous, covering a distance of over 130 kms spread out over 7-8 days. Little did we know about this - we were under the impression that this was one of the easier treks, albeit a little long. But, I must say we made the most of it and had a jolly good time too.

We had some wonderful sightings during the trek comprising of marmots, mountain deer (they zip past you) and a whole range of avian species. We saw very many monasteries too and rested at a wide range of "parachute" restaurants.

But, what took our breath away was the trek itself - the landscapes were straight out of a postcard. At times, when the going got tough, all I needed to do was look around and boy, was i motivated then.

At the end of a hard day's trek, it was a most pleasurable and welcome sight to gaze upon our quaint little blue tent in the midst of a valley. As soon as we arrived, tea and juice used to be served on a little table followed by a hot meal later - it was truly luxury in the middle of abject wilderness.

A memorable moment was when I heard heavy rain pattering on the roof of our tent one night. Next morning, I peep out and was delighted to see a thick layer of snow all across the valley - a sight I will remember forever.

Mr Tundup, special thank you to as well - your guidance as what equipment to carry for the trek indeed served us well - especially over the tall passes of Ganda La and Khardung La.

I could go on writing forever over - but the underlying message is that the Markha Valley trek is a delight (though long) and there could be no better operator than Overland Escape - Kudos to Mr Tundup and his team - for the life of me, I cant think of a single occasion where they put a foot wrong. Wonderful, simply wonderful.

Ladakh
Mr Tundup Dorjee organized a 10 day trip for 4 of us in June 2009, starting from Chandigarh and culminating in Srinagar. The trip was very well planned and executed. Overland was able to understand our requirements and give us a plan covering all the different places we wanted to see within our timeframe and budget.
The drivers provided by Overland Escape were professional (safely managed snowstorm near Pangong Tso, night drive across Kargil) yet friendly. We were accommodated in the best available hotels / tents at the various places we visited. The vehicles given were in good condition and did not have any breakdown during the 2000km trip.
What I liked most was the flexibility that Overland offered us – we were able to change our plans (as we got more tired than we imagined!) without any hassle or extra charges. We also were offered options in terms of payments – including cheque payment.

Leh, Alchi, Nubra Valley, Pongong Lake
Julay! Dear Mr.Tundup Dorjey and Mr.Kamlesh Lalan ,

My wife and I highly appreciate you for arranging and organizing our tour/travel to Leh-Ladakh in such a meticulous and organized way. The tour has been a most memorable as we could connect with Ladakhi people and their preserved culture. Your advice on high-altitude mountain sickness helped us remain fit through out the tour and get absorbed in natures' marvels at high altitude.

Your personal attention and constant contact with us during the tour ensured that we got best treatment at the places of stay in Leh, Pongong Lake and Nubra valley. The car driver was kind and courteous and exhibited excellent qualities of punctuality and safe driving habit.

We highly appreciate your gift of CD- 101 Moments on Ladakh-endless discoveries. We will visit Leh-Ladakh once again to participate in Hemi’s festival.

We strongly recommend your services to all who intend to visit Leh-Ladakh. Ki Ki So So Lhar-gyalo!

Kashmir and Ladakh in May 2009
Hi Tundup,

Sorry for such a late mail. But I was having a manic month. It has been a month since we came back from the trip. I just want to convey my deep thanks for the very well planned trip planned by you. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and will rate it as one of the very best trips we ever had. Except for the few hickups with the flight every thing was just perfect.

I would also like to thank you for the kind of flexibility you have been able to provide with the difficult weather and frequent changes. The motels/resorts you provided were as well very good. I have to mention that the camp at alchi was amazing. It was very refreshing and totally different. The welcome we had at Leh was great. Have to thank Motup for the personnel service provided. The Leh resort was as well cool and very accommodative. The staff was so very helpful there.

Thanks to Lobsang for taking care of us in Leh. It was a very good initiative to meet us on a daily basis at the hotel.

Finally, very big thanks to Sonam, we truly miss him. An amazing guy, never heard a NO from him during the entire trip. Very very helpful. He was always ready for what we want and very good driver. The best of the driver. The only person whom I would say is better than me when it comes to driving. :)

Then as a final guidance, probably, the driver at Kashmir was not great. Cannot even compare him with Sonam. I know that you do not operate directly there. But probably you need to be a lil careful when you select your partners. You guys are doing a great job, Keep it going, I should soon see you growing faster.
Anyway, in case you need any support for your IT needs, let me know. I probably will be able to get you a better deal.

Thanks and Regards

Chamser Kangri Expeditions - August 2008
When I started planning our journey in Ladakh and choose to go with your agency Overland Escape, I had already a good feeling after a few exchanged e-mails.

I must say that this good feeling stayed all the time we were in Ladakh. With your help and the help of all the members of your staff, especially our guide mister Tsering Namgyal, we had a wonderfull time in Ladakh !

Although our group was very large (18 persons) the organisation of the very beautiful trekking and the climbing part of the Chamser Kangri, was outstanding!
The food was very good, we had good tents and the helpers were all very helpful and very friendly people.

Also the last part of our journey of 31 days was well organised by you: 2 days bij jeeps from Rumtse to Manali and then bij good airco coach bus to Dharamsala, Amritsar and back to Delhi: it was sometimes tiring, but we will never forget the beautiful scenery along the way !

It is very likely we will come back within a few years and you may be sure that we will again contact your very reliable agency !

Please do find hereby a selection of photo's taken by the group and the exepdition report I send to IMF a few days ago.

With my very best regards

I can hardly express how satisfied we were during our stay.
The trek was absolutely successful and well-organized.
The staff was polite, kind and helpful. They worked hard all the 8 days.
The tents were clean and tidy day by day and the foods were always tasty.
I also have to mention Singey who was an exceptionally good guide.
He was everywhere and helped us several ways.
Special thanks to Singey for his huge work.
So altogether, this was one of our finest travels ever!!
Thank You and your staff for the unforgettable holiday!

Greetings from Hungray.
We wish You all the best!

Best regards,
Ms. Zora Barta and Mr. Vilmos Beke

Leh Ladakh - 19 June 2008
Our trip was even more memorable and enjoyable because of the facilities that Overland Escape provided us.Mr. Tunduk Namgyal, who drove us in and around Leh Ladakh , was very well versed with the roads, had an excellent idea about the climate and all the information & history about the places we visited.
Overland provided us excellent hotel arrangements and made sure our trip was one of the best ever....

Ladakh Expedition, March 29 to April 22, 2007
This was a hugely successful expedition. Feedback from parents during this last week has been wholeheartedly positive and has expressed a lot of gratitude for the wonderful opportunity we gave to the pupil participants.
Maybe I should start with a few short quotes from participants:
“I have seen and experienced things that I am certain I shall never forget.”
“This trip will stay with me for the rest of my life”
“This incredible trip was a once-in a lifetime chance and I have enjoyed every moment of it”.
“This trip was the most amazing experience of my life”
I will certainly never forget the experiences, the views and the comradeship that I have enjoyed”.
The Transport went very smoothly throughout. The flights were efficient and on time. Ladakh flights are, of course, dependent on weather conditions, but we managed to get to our destination reasonably on time in both directions. Local transport had been very efficiently organised by Tundup Dorjey, who leads “Overland Escape”, the local outfit we used.
The cultural programme in Ladakh was very successful, at least partly due to an excellent guide, who could really give us insight into the Ladakhi way of life and its religious background. The Ladakhi cultural evening with songs and traditional dances on our last evening in Leh was also really appreciated.
The trek was brilliantly organised by Tundup, the guide and support team were excellent and we were really well looked after throughout.
Food was of a very high quality both in the Lotus Hotel in Leh and during the trek. As a consequence, there were only a few cases of (thankfully short-term) sickness.
Very importantly, the weather was very kind to us. After some snow on our first day in Leh, the weather cleared and for 10 days on the trek it was absolutely brilliant. As we had clear sunshine on all high days on the trek, the views and the light were absolutely stunning. When there was some rain and more cloud on the last day of the trek, it did not matter to us anymore, as we just had an easy route to complete.
Thankfully, we did not need the satellite phone during this expedition, but it provided a safety net just in case.
We knew that altitude sickness was a potentially high risk and took every precaution possible. We had built in a long acclimatisation period in Leh before starting the trek and once on the trek ascended very slowly before we reached the highest pass. A number of pupils suffered mild symptoms of altitude sickness on the first two days in Leh, but quickly recovered. Rory Gascoigne was taken to hospital to receive oxygen in order to help his acclimatisation process and subsequently managed to complete the trek without any further difficulties.
Choice of destination: Ladakh proved an extremely popular destination with all participants due to the immense opportunities it offers with regard to its culture and its mountain challenges, which are just appropriate for a group like ours. The experience of the region I brought to the expedition was also a very important safety factor and it enabled us to devise a relevant and valuable programme throughout.
It is quite amazing, in a way, that on an expedition of this magnitude there was not a single injury. This was at least partly due to the excellent discipline within the group.
The staff team worked extremely hard, supported each other well and got on very well with each other. They had prepared the group well for the EFL teaching at Druk Pema, they entertained the students positively after arriving at campsites during the trek, and formed good positive relationships with the participants.
Future expeditions: I have already made tentative plans for the next expedition in April 2009. Ladakh is an ideal destination, and the fact that we have an excellent support team there (Tundup Dorjey and Overland Escape) together with our educational connections with White Lotus School guarantee the educational value of an expedition there.

Ladakh and Himachal, 2007
Dear Mr. Tundup, Having returned safely at our home base in Belgium after an impressive stay in Ladakh, I like in the name of the whole group as well as myself to express our satisfaction and gratitude to you and your team for the excellent organization of our tour. The program you prepared and the services Overland Escape have delivered were without no exception all of very high quality. We had in total four drivers during our trip and we were pleased that they all respected our request for prudent driving. We felt really relaxed not only during our tours around Leh but also during the whole jeep-trekking. I have made so far quite some trekkings in different parts of the world, but I never had the pleasure to have such a good cook in the trekking team. What this cook was able to prepare in his tent was really remarkable and amazing. Even with the best will in the world, I and the other members of our group would not be able to identify one or the other small issue where we were perhaps less satisfied. In other words, whenever the occasion occurs I will certainly contact you another time for a trip in this part of Asia. Having said this, I think you told me in Leh (unless I misunderstood you) that Overland Escape is also able to organize trekkings in Bhutan. I was not able to find anything like this on your website, but perhaps you could write to me on this.

Lamayuru to Darcha Trek in 2004
Tundup Dorjey (Overland) arranged the trek from Lamayuru to Darcha for a very fair price. Also to climb Stok Khangri in 3 days. I can only say, he is a very good tourist manager. Very helpful in every aspect. I can only recommend him and his services. I will come back. Thanks to all

Himachal
"Tundup, have really a sixth sense...his associate in Manali (Kuram) is really a good man...a really good man where you can trust and give the full faith for everything. As already said, Tundup, know very well how to choice his partners. Concerning the driver choose by Kuram for the transfer from Manali to Dharmasala and then to Amritsar...he was a very good professional driver. All of us were surprise to find out in India a special driver, very professional, very polite...typical western style driver. Few words, always agree for everything, never complain and at the end he wanted to refuse our tips and we forced him to have it. I don't know if this choice has been affected by Tundup or by Kuram...but in any case...compliments to all of you. Now we are here into our house, very sad...our holiday has finished so quickly that we didn't realize. Everything has gone well, everything perfect. We'll be always in debit with Tundup for his great service and we really hope to see him again in a close future for another trekking. Thanks again for all, thanks for your book guide and for your full assistance."

"We were very pleased to avail ourselves of the services of M/s Overland Escape, Fort Road, Leh, Ladakh, during the Fourth Regional Workshop of the UNESCO supported " Development of Cultural and Eco-tourism in the Mountainous Regions of Central and South Asia" project, held in Ladakh between 25th and 30th August 2003. As provider of logistical services in Delhi and support for workshop in Ladakh, we were very appreciative of the services provided by Mr. Tundup Dorjey (Overland Escape) arranging accommodation, transportation and other necessary services all helping to ensure a successful and productive workshop.
